Cheerleading openings: CCA teams will be formed at the end of May and practice starts in June. The CCA Titans competitive all-star cheerleading teams are open for the 2008-09 season to all girls entering kindergarten through 12th grade. Previous experience is welcome, but not required. The Titans maintain a no-cut policy for girls entering kindergarten through ninth grade, so everyone in that age group will be placed on a team. Soccer summer camps: Discount for registration before June 1. Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m., activities run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., July 14-18 and Aug. 4-8, Libertyville Township Soccer Complex, 1860 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville. The Greater Libertyville Soccer Association will offer summer camps conducted by the Eclipse Select Soccer Association Professional Staff for soccer players ages 7 to 14. Adult Sand Volleyball: 6:15 and 7:15 p.m. Thursdays, June 3 and run through late August, at the Hartmann Park sand volleyball courts, on Oakwood Drive, just south of Route 45, Vernon Hills. Adult, co-rec sand volleyball league. The 6-on-6 co-ed league is limited to eight teams, playing an eight-game regular season and a single elimination end of season tournament. Girls basketball camp: In the gym of Vernon Hills High School, 145 Lakeview Parkway, Vernon Hills Vernon Hills High School will offer Cougar Camp 2008 Girls Basketball Skills and Games Camp.

• Session I will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, June 8 to 26, for ninth- through 12th-graders. The fee is $190.

• Session II be from 8 to 9:30 a.m. for third- through fifth-graders and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. for sixth- through eighth-graders, on Thursdays, July 7 to 17. The fee is $90.

Bears football camps: Chicago Bears Youth Football Camps will be offered in June and July. The camps are non-contact day camps for young people ages 6 to 14 intended to teach athletic, football and life skills for young athletes. Local camps include the following:

• June 23 to 27 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Barbara Rose School, 61 W. Penny Road, Barrington.

• July 7 to 11 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Campanelli YMCA, 300 W. Wise Road, Schaumburg.

• July 14 to 18 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Poe School, 2800 N. Highland Ave., Arlington Heights.

• July 14 to 18 -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Laura B. Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Drive, Lincolnshire.

Each camp maintains a 10-to-1 student-to-instructor ratio. First-aid trained staff and an athletic trainer are available at all camps to ensure a safe and healthy experience.
