Larson to lead bike to work event
Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson will lead residents in a morning ride to village hall as part of Bike to Work Week. At 9:30 a.m. Friday, the ride will begin at the bike path at the Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way in Schaumburg.
Build a birdhouse in Hoffman Estates
The Hoffman Estates Environmental Commission invites children ages 6 to 14 for its "Build a Birdhouse" workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon, Saturday at the public works center, 2305 Pembroke Ave. Registration is required. Free. To register, call (847) 490-6800.
Barrington hosts orchestra concert
The Barrington High School orchestras will present their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school's Richard C. Johnson Auditorium, 616 W. 'Clean Sweep' starts in Hoffman Estates
On Friday, as part of "Clean Sweep," teams of Hoffman Estates officials will drive through neighborhoods searching for common property maintenance issues -- like street addresses not being visible, unapproved signs or inoperable vehicles. Call (847) 781-2631.
Conant Lock-in to benefit MS Society
Friday and Saturday, Conant High School's National Honor Society will have its second annual Dance Marathon/Lock-in. Students are soliciting donations from within the high school community with proceeds going to the National MS Society in honor of Meghan Melone, a Conant senior and NHS member who is living and thriving with MS.
