Turk, Gannon, 3,200 relay to state for BC

Burlington Central's girls track team will send Markelle Turk and Vanessa Perez to next weekend's state meet in Charleston after each qualified in individual events competing in the Class AA Ottawa sectional Saturday.

The Rockets will also send their 3,200 meter relay team, which won the sectional with a time of 9:49.46. The relay is comprised of Maggie Gannon, Rachel Latham, Tegan Thommes and Katie Puccio.

Turk finished second overall in the 3,200 meter run below the qualifying time with an 11:40.37, while Perez advances in the 300 meter hurdles, finishing at 45.99.
