WXLC listeners: Thanks for sharing

To my Lake County listeners: I just wanted for formally take the time to thank you for sharing your lives, and mornings with me for the past 4 ½ years on 102.3FM WXLC radio.

After the show on Thursday, May 1, I was informed that the morning show would be taking a "new direction". Sadly, I did not get the chance to say my good byes, (which is common for many exiting radio DJs) and I didn't want you to think I was ditching you.

During my time at XLC, I have gotten to experience what makes Lake County all the wonderful things that it is. From the agriculture, to local business, to the hard-working employees, and every day families and people who tune-in to the station every morning. I have SO much enjoyed getting to know you. You are my extended family!

It has been a pleasure getting you up every morning, and having you share your lives with me. I've appreciated every e-mail, phone call, and special trip you've ever made to stop out and see the morning show.

I gave 1,000 percent of myself when I was there, and I have nothing but pride for what I've learned, and how far I've come. I kicked some morning show butt at XLC -- not just as a chick -- but in general.

I would like to thank my co-workers who were there for me in so many ways: Mary O'Connor, Jerry Boothe, Robert Kutzler, Chris Williams, Lisa Delisi, Diane Ebert and Jason Cornell.

Also, Gail Kahover of the Daily Herald's Neighbor section, and Karen Rappaport from Save-a-Pet Grayslake, for being a part of the show every week.

My true radio family -- Joe Cicero, Monica DiSantis, Tim Vander Tuuk, Frank Wright and Mike Mason -- I mean what can I say? I know how hard you all work, and how much talent you have. I love you dearly! You will always put a smile on my face, and have a fan in me.

And last but not least, the Lake County businesses I've had the pleasure of working with, and all the listeners -- YOU are the reason I got up early every morning and got going even when the world around me was falling apart. Thanks for a great run. Cheers to the future!
