PHS show choirs perform this week

Prospect High School's two show choirs will present a full concert of solos, duets and group performances at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, in the school theater, 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect. An additional performance will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, also featuring the Lincoln Junior High Celebration Singers.

The show features such songs as "The Final Countdown" and the James Bond "007" theme. Tickets are $10 and available in the PHS Commons 10:20 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call (847) 718-5370.

Plainfield School, 1850 Plainfield Drive, Des Plaines, is having a flower sale featuring both annuals and perennials. Orders with payment are due today. Walk for fun, help Young center

The Kenneth Young Center will sponsor its fundraiser "Walk for the Mental Health Of It" Saturday, at Busse Woods, Elk Grove Village, with an 8 a.m. check-in and 9 a.m. start time. Open to walkers, runners, in-line skaters, wheelchairs, wagons, dogs, cats and piggybackers. There is no registration fee. Walkers are encouraged to collect sponsorships for their (3.1-mile) 5K walk, which starts and ends on the Higgins Road overpass in Busse Woods. Music, food, family fun and games are featured.
