Police had chased cougar all day
I just read a letter from Terry Poulos in Arlington Heights, he says the debate of this cougar is silly and nonsensical.
The original article I read in the Herald said that the officers "chased the cougar all day" so wasn't there some danger during those possibly several hours that someone could have been injured?
A tranquilizer dart takes effect rather fast, maybe 5 minutes. Four officers all day versus four officers for 5 or 10 minutes?
Situation handled, probably would have been no comment. Animal removed to a zoo instead of his bleached bones and tanned hide now sitting in a museum.
With all the sightings around the area, seems some of the officers could have been carrying a tranquilizer gun anyway.
They say you can judge a person by the way they treat animals.
And maybe it was overkill with all these officers supposedly emptying their guns into this animal. Sort of like Bonnie and Clyde. How many bullets does it take to kill a person or animal?
