Wrap: South Elgin girls soccer gives Dundee-Crown the boot
The South Elgin girls soccer team downed Dundee-Crown on Monday 1-0 in the final game of the D-C tournament.
Jessica DeSimone scored the lone goal of the game, lifting the Storm (4-11-1) to the win.
Danielle Wagner made 5 saves in goal for South Elgin, while Deanna Libricz had 6 stops for the Chargers (4-9-3).
Streamwood 4, East Aurora 2: Streamwood (6-8-3, 3-3-1) picked up a win against East Aurora in Upstate Eight Conference play. Geena Boris scored the first Sabres goal, assisted by Alahna Thompson. Voilet Sanchez scored a goal on an assist by Jenny Kaeseberg. Thompson added another goal, assisted by Sara Kemp. Lonnie Prout played the first half in the nets for Streamwood and collected 2 saves. Pearl Patel made a save in the second half.
Boys volleyball
Streamwood d. St. Edward: Streamwood defeated St. Edward 25-12, 25-18 in nonconference play. Marcus Greene led the way for the Sabres with 8 kills. Kevin Wohlhart had 4 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces, while Louis Coletti had 19 assists and 13 digs for Streamwood.
College softball
CCAC tournament: Judson University (22-21) will meet Saint Xavier on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the first round of the CCAC tournament.
Judson, coming off a third-place finish over the weekend at the NCCAA national tournament, is seeded No. 6 in the tournament.
If the Eagles beat Saint Xavier, a team they swept early in the season, they will play No. 2 seed St. Francis, also on Wednesday, in the double-elimination tournament at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.
Judson needs 1 win to tie the school record. The Eagles' doubleheader scheduled for Monday against Carthage College will be played on Monday, May 5, at 4 p.m. at the Elgin Sports Complex. It will be Judson's senior day.
