View student art at Randhurst Mall

The annual District 214 Randhurst Fine Arts Show will be on display May 15- 27, at the Randhurst Shopping Center in Mount Prospect, featuring works in various media by student artists in all six high schools of District 214. The exhibit is free.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 7-8 p.m. on May 15 with complimentary cookies and punch. String quartets from Buffalo Grove and Prospect High Schools will perform.

Birthdays moving to 'Celebrate'

Beginning Sunday, May 11, the Daily Herald will publish a new section titled "Celebrate," which will herald readers' celebrations of such milestones as birthdays, graduations, new babies, bar and bat mitzvahs, Quinceaneras, baptisms, first Communions, confirmations and anything else that readers would like to celebrate.

There will be a cost to place an announcement in Celebrate. Because of this, birthday greetings no longer will be published in Neighbor for free after May 10. To place an announcement in "Celebrate," visit dailyherald.com and click on "Commitments" under the Lifestyle tab, or call (847) 427-4493.
