Verseman offering pre-priced designs

Verseman Development Company, long known as a builder of custom homes, is offering more variety and flexibility to buyers with its new line of pre-priced designs at its Lyons Ridge community of 28 luxury homes on one-half acre lots in Cary.

"The Verseman Collection" consists of 35 spacious floor plans, each of which can be modified according to a buyer's tastes and preferences, said Jeff Holz, co-owner of Cary-based Verseman Development Company.

"We decided to provide this all-new portfolio of plans to expand our buyers' choices and possibilities," he said. "If a customer doesn't have a totally custom-from-the-ground-up residence in mind, then they can select from our Verseman Collection."

Holz noted that new home shoppers in the market for a personalized home occasionally have difficulty visualizing the finished product or lack the time or desire to go through the custom design process.

"We had these buyers in mind when we chose to debut The Verseman Collection," he said. "We normally sit down with a customer and start with a blank sheet of paper, from which we'll begin the sketching out and designing a one-of-a-kind home from scratch, with the goal of creating something completely unique. But some people are understandably apprehensive, indecisive or intimidated by this process. They would rather simplify things by choosing from a portfolio of preconceived, pre-priced floor plans."

Staying true to its build-to-suit commitment, Verseman Development can expand, scale down and modify any Verseman Collection design according to the buyer's wishes.

"These floor plans aren't simply 'what you see is what you get.' We can move walls, add rooms, enhance with options and upgrades and reconfigure any layout to meet your needs -- so long as it doesn't compromise the home's structural integrity," Holz added.

The 35 homes available in The Verseman Collection are each two-story plans that include four to five bedrooms, three to four baths, formal living and dining rooms, a generously sized family room, master bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and luxurious master bath, kitchen and breakfast area and a three-car garage. Base prices (not including lot) range from $359,475 to $613,480. Sizes range from 2,635 to 4,201 square feet. A completely custom home-plus-lot package starts at $500,000.

Sales have reached nearly 50 percent at Lyons Ridge, where 15 home sites remain on which a Verseman home can be built.

Lyons Ridge also has an inventory home ready for immediate delivery at 15 Oakdale Court. This custom home has four bedrooms, 2½ baths, a full basement, nicely equipped kitchen with maple cabinets and a honey finish, oak hardwood flooring, cathedral ceiling in the family room, approximately 3,186 square feet on a one-half acre home site priced at $599,900.
