Citizens have earned their Social Security

When "Social Security" was introduced it was to act as a measure to assist the American citizen. It was intended to be a " fail safe" secured savings account for workers. If it had not been for this act many people would have perished. There have been times in this country where putting aside money has been next to impossible and this was really a miracle stopgap measure to save Americans from poverty.

I was so surprised by the article written by George Will bashing the system. Social Security is not and has never been an entitlement program. It is "earned" money by hardworking tax-paying citizens. This money is deducted from paychecks and is not the government's money. It is like a "savings account" and when people retire they are then living on a very marginal Social Security income.

The Social Security system was solvent until bureaucrats, " robber barons" so to speak, decided to take money not rightfully theirs and use it for other government programs without the consent nor permission of the American taxpayers. This is a form of thievery. They saw that a lot of people died before getting their " benefits" and instead of giving the money to their heirs these bureaucrats decided to legally steal it,

Now if you examine the fiscal practices of the U.S. government you would be outraged at the pilfering of these accounts. The true pilferers of Social Security are the elected officials and their minions. Truly if the government were run like a business this theft of taxpayer money would never have happened.

The Social Security money was earned and should be given to the families if the worker dies before receipt of it. The people who are stealing from the U.S. citizens are the administration with their blatant sense of "entitlement" to American citizens' money. They attach pork barrel programs to bills. I think that the entitlement mentality is in the leadership in the highest office where they rule but do not serve and place our country in grave economic crisis with a $4 trillion war. If that is not entitlement then tell me what is?

We have the most irresponsible people handling the country's money.
