See pets ready for a new forever home

Adopt-A-Pet is featured from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Macy's Wing at Spring Hill Mall.

Several area animal shelters, including Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin, and animal rescues return for the monthly Adopt-A-Pet event to help families find a new pet companion. This event is held on the last Saturday of every month.

Treat your furry friends to park pass

Treat your special four-legged friends to a 2008 Hound Town Dog Park pass.

Keys for the 2008 Dog Park Season, January to December 2008, are on sale now at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, at 1 E. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake.

Hound Town is a three-acre park where dogs can socialize and run off leash. An annual permit allows you to enjoy the area specially designed for your furry friend. It is entirely fenced in and is open year-round, dawn to dusk.

To purchase a Hound Town key, park users must bring proof of residency and proof of rabies vaccination from your vet or vet receipt.

Program fee is $60 fee for nonresidents and $10 for each additional dog, and $30 for residents and $6 for each additional dog. Cost is half-price for seniors.
