Crystal Lake Park District starts random prize plan for park recycling

The Crystal Lake Park District urges park visitors to "Get Caught Recycling" at Main Beach, West Beach, Veteran Acres and Lippold Park this summer.

These four parks were chosen to be pilot sites for the park district's newly improved recycling effort. If successful, the program will expand to all 42 parks in the district.

Parks will be monitored by park district staff on a random basis to "catch" recyclers. If you are caught in the act of recycling, you will win a prize instantly and be added to the Recycling Hall of Fame at www.crystallakeparks.org.

This program is being announced in recognition of Earth Day 2008. It was designed to reduce the amount of park garbage entering landfills, as well as to education park patrons about the benefits of recycling.
