Mount Prospect is very generous town

When are the people of Mount Prospect going to wake up and smell the coffee? In this case sadly, it's not coffee. I'm referring to an article that I read today. Our town politicos have purchased the land for their Golden Triangle scheme. The purchase price was stated to be $1.275 million. Another $175,000 will be spent for "moving" and attorney's fees.

This may or may not be reasonable but here's the part that smells. The village, that's us folks, will donate, yes donate, the land to the developers. How generous of us taxpayers. The village politicos are always crying about not having enough money. They keep raising the water and sewer rates. They started charging for garbage collection and we have one of, if not the highest collection fees for yard waste, just to mention a few things.

Yet we have enough money to GIVE a developer $1.45 million of our tax money. What's going on? I once previously questioned the lack of accounting for previous land purchase deals. Nothing happened. Some one(s) is/are getting fat at our expense. Come on politicos, 'fess up.
