Sheriff honors village volunteer
Robert L. McKillop, a Mount Prospect senior citizen, was honored by Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart April 15 with a Senior Medal of Honor for outstanding volunteer service to the village. He was one of 73 Cook County seniors to receive the award. McKillop is a Mount Prospect fire and police commissioner. He also has served on the VFW Memorial Community Band Shell Construction Committee, and is a member of the Mount Prospect Lions Club and local VFW chapter, where he has helped coordinate Mount Prospect's annual Memorial Day and Fourth of July parades and activities.
Meet Alderman Beauvais Thursday
Des Plaines Alderman Pat Beauvais has announced that a First Ward meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, on the first floor of city hall, 1420 Miner St.
All residents of Ward 1 are invited to bring city related concerns, problems and questions to this meeting at which all city departments will be represented.
According to Alderman Beauvais, the meeting will be conducted like an open house.
Exercise, arthritis program at Frisbee
State Rep. Rosemary Mulligan is reminding residents of the "Exercise and Arthritis" workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Frisbee Senior Center, 52 Northwest Highway, Des Plaines.
