Wall on our border needs to be built

I don't think Mr. Jones (Fence Post, April 14) understands why the wall on our Mexico border is important unless he is one of those who came from that country illegally. The wall is to stop those from coming into our country illegally. What we should be outraged about is that the wall has taken so long to build and all the illegal immigrants in this country are filling our schools and hospitals and demanding their rights. They have no rights -- they are here illegally! Jones' quote of Ronald Reagan is taken out of context. The wall Reagan was referring to was dividing the city of Berlin.

I agree with the statement, "We are disconnected from our American values" and the "attack on individual freedoms." Freedom does not mean that our borders are free for people to cross to come into the country illegally. We are losing our freedom more every day with the abuse of those in power, but that is whole other story that has nothing to do with the reason for the wall.

I say: "Mr. President, build that wall higher and faster!"
