• Melissa Rose Arnold, daughter of Herbert Arnold of Mundelein, was named to the 2007 Athletic Director's Honor Roll at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, for achieving at 3.0 average during spring or fall. Arnold is a sophomore pre-education student on the women's track and field team, and a gradate of Mundelein High School.

• Katelyn Blanas, daughter of Mike and Jan Blanas of Lake Villa, and a junior at Quincy University, was named to the 2007 fall dean's list for achieving a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0.

• Kristen Ann Meylor of Vernon Hills, a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, was named to the President's List for the 2007 fall semester for achieving a 4.0 grade point average.

• Nina Pacholec, daughter of Frank and Cathy Pacholec of Gurnee, and a senior nursing major at Quincy University, was named to the 2007 fall dean's list for achieving a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0. Pacholec is a graduate of Warren Township High School.

• Garrett Wilkinson of Mundelein, a student majoring in information technology management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, received the Chancellor's Award for the fall 2007 semester for having a GPA of 3.5 or above.

• Matt Phelan of Libertyville received academic honors from Ferris State University, Big Rapids, Mich., for having at least a 3.5 GPA at the end of the December 2007 semester.

• Kristin Lynn Penney of Lake Zurich, a junior pre-nursing student in the Division of General Studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, was named to the Honor Roll for having at least a 3.6 average for the fall 2007-08 semester.

• Kristine Lauren Sabatino, daughter of Arlene and Larry Sabatino, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Western Michigan University in December 2007. Sabatino is a 2003 graduate of Lake Zurich High School.
