• Marc Kliesner of Lake Villa, a student majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, received the chancellor's award for the fall 2007 semester for having a GPA of 3.5 or above.

• Alexandar Peykov of Antioch was awarded a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the Dec. 16, 2007 commencement ceremonies.

• Jaime Lyn Pollard of Gurnee received a bachelor's degree in natural sciences and biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison at the Dec. 16, 2007 commencement ceremonies.

• Rebecca R. Celebuski, a resident of Gurnee, was named to the dean's list at Boston University in Massachusetts for the Fall 2007 semester.

• Sara Buksa of Wadsworth, a pre-veterinary medicine major at the University of Findlay in Ohio, was named to the fall 2007 dean's list for attaining a grade point average of at least 3.5.

• Mary Mattingly, daughter of Phillip Mattingly and Marjorie Morrison, Third Lake, was named to the fall 2007 dean's list at Ithaca College's School of Music in New York.

• Elizabeth Kohrman of Grayslake was named to the fall 2007-08 dean's list at the University of Dayton in Ohio for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

• Ryan Kessler of Antioch was named to the fall 2007 president's list at Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, for achieving a straight-A grade-point average of 4.0 during the semester.

• Emily Weitkunat, Antioch, and Ryan Cashman, Lake Villa, were named to the 2007-08 honor roll at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh for having at least a 3.3 GPA.

• Andrea D. Jovanovic, Jeffrey K. Ryan, and James A. Starwalt, all of Grayslake, and Jacob M. Narens, Gurnee, completed degree requirements in December 2007 from Northern Michigan University in Marquette.

• The University of Wisconsin-Parkside announced the following students were named to the provost's list for the fall 2007 semester for maintaining grade point averages of 3.8 or higher.

• Northern Michigan University in Marquette named the following students to the fall 2007 dean's list for having grade point averages of 3.25 to 3.99.

• Concordia University in Mequon, Wis., announced the following students were named to the fall 2007-08 dean's list for achieving a minimum 3.50 GPA.
