Saxons succeed behind Wagner

Jordan Wagner was roaring out of the starting blocks Tuesday for Schaumburg's girls track and field team.

And Wagner was roaring to the finish line ahead of everyone else in the 100, 200 and 400 meters.

Wagner pulled off the sprint hat trick by taking the 100 (12.9), 200 (27.2) and 400 (1:03.2) to lead Schaumburg (78 points) past host Rolling Meadows (66) and Elk Grove (20) in the Mid-Suburban League triangular.

Schaumburg also won three relays and Veronica Painter took first in the 100 high hurdles (15.9) and 300 intermediates (49.9).

Mandy Streu won the shot put (39-5) and discus (120-10) and Amanda Whowell took the 1,600 (5:29.6) for Meadows. Ginna Erbacci was first in the 3,200 (11:41.5) for Elk Grove.

At Fremd: Jocelyn Kuksa is good at clearing obstacles.

Kuksa won the pole vault at 11 feet and the 110 high hurdles in 15.1 to lead Palatine (91.5) past Wheeling (49) and Fremd (46.5) in the MSL triangular.

The Pirates also had first-place efforts from Lauren Orris in the discus (139-2), Tally Millin in the long jump (16-0), Martha Shepard in the shot (40-11½) and Sarah McIntosh in the 1,600 (5:19.7).

Ashley Ruff won the triple jump (32-8) for Fremd. Amber Stack won the 400 (1:05.4) for Wheeling.

At Prospect: Jeanette Wochinski won the 3,200 (12:28) and Claire Hollis was first in the 800 (2:28) as Prospect (86) beat Conant (74) and Buffalo Grove (26) in the MSL triangular.

Toni Graham won the 100 (12.13) and 400 (1:00) for Conant. Nicole LaMantia was first in the triple jump (33-3½) for BG.

At Hoffman: Jenny Schnack won the 200 (26.1) to help Barrington (93) past Hoffman Estates (68) and Hersey (21) in the MSL triangular.

Ashley Chervinko won the shot put (40-1) and discus (119-3) for Hoffman.
