Time to stop the war on townships
For the second year in a row, DAWN (DuPage Against War Now) failed to muster the troops necessary to place its anti-war question on the ballot via any of the nine DuPage County Townships' Annual Town Meetings. Going back three years, DAWN was successful in just one township, but only by a surprise attack, overwhelming a peaceful, unsuspecting meeting with DAWN foot soldiers.
Township government has nothing to do with a foreign war, duly declared and prosecuted at the national level. DAWN picks on townships because they are one of the smallest units of government. Only in this theater of war could DAWN's tiny numbers have any chance for success. Having failed at this level, I call on DAWN to stop the war on township government.
