Ranch plans popular among all ages

Historically considered an "empty-nester" plan, today's ranch designs are a popular choice among singles and couples of all ages as well as families. And, the ranch duplex designs at the Villas at Gilberts Town Center are no exception.

"Twenty years ago ranch plans were the home of choice for retirees who needed single-level living and were rarely, if ever, a desirable option for younger buyers or families," said Charles Lorenz, president for Par Development, Inc., the developer of the Villas at Gilberts Town Center. "Not so anymore. Since introducing our models last year, we've seen a diverse cross-section of buyers purchasing our Ashton and Augusta ranch plans. A total of four villa home designs ranging from 1,975 to 2,234 square feet in size are offered and are base-priced from $299,990 to $327,990. All homes include two to three bedrooms, two or 2½ baths, lofts and dens (per plan), full basements, landscaped home sites, brick fronts with premium vinyl siding and vinyl trim, and attached two or optional three-car garages. English basements are available. All four of the designs are shown as models.

The two ranch plans at the Villas at Gilberts Town Center include:

The Ashton: A 1,975-square-foot ranch design with two bedrooms and a den or optional third bedroom, two baths, island kitchen with dinette area, formal dining room, family room and attached two-car garage. The Ashton is base-priced from $319,990.

The Augusta: A 2,243-square-foot ranch plan with three bedrooms or two bedrooms and a study, two baths, island kitchen with breakfast bar and separate dining area, formal dining room with vaulted ceiling, family room with volume ceiling, secondary bedroom with bay window, laundry room, separate mud room and attached two-car or optional three-car garage. The Augusta is priced from $327,990.
