Gas prices aren't really out of whack

Every day, I read about gas prices being too high and that they might get to $4 per gallon.

When I got my drivers license in 1980, gas prices were about $1.25 per gallon. If one assumes inflation averaged about 4 percent per year, gas prices need to be $3.75 per gallon for them to be equal.

Gas prices have been too low over the last 10 years and we are just now getting back to reality.

That being said, it still hurts.
