11 high school students to be honored

A special recognition breakfast will be held Friday at John Hersey High School, honoring 11 students for exceptional improvement in academic standing, volunteer efforts, overcoming personal challenges or for their positive attitudes.

The following students are recipients of the Hersey Recognition Award: Senior Sean Brodacz of Des Plaines for improvement in academics and participation; sophomore Samantha Collins of Arlington Heights for academic excellence; sophomore Zach Diers of Arlington Heights for his helpful volunteerism in the choral department; sophomore Anel Dizdarevic of Des Plaines for academic excellence and serving as an "excellent role model;" and senior Samantha Dospod of Mount Prospect for academic and personal excellence.

Senior Heather Fields of Mount Prospect will receive recognition for academic excellence; senior Michael Novak of Mount Prospect for great academic success; sophomore Caitlan Penn of Mount Prospect for academic excellence; sophomore Rhiannon Schwolow of Arlington Heights for academic excellence; senior Francisco Soto of Wheeling for academic excellence, leadership and helpful attitude; and freshman Anna Voinovich of Mount Prospect for her exemplary volunteerism in the choral department.
