Briefs: Birds on their own

A Prospect Heights couple have emptied their five bird feeders and won't put out birdseed for six months. Neighbors John and Alice Gornick had complained that Halina and Richard Rogulski's bird feeders, as well as the dish of bird food and bread that was put out for ducks, were a health hazard because they attracted too many critters. Cook County Circuit Court Judge Alfred Levinson ruled this week that the Rogulskis had violated a city ordinance and told them not to feed the birds or face fines of $500 a day.
