Vernon Hills company wins 3 national awards

James Martin Associates Inc. of Vernon Hills won three national awards from the Professional Landcare Network.

Brickman of Long Grove and Mariani Landscape of Lake Bluff also won residential awards.

James Martin Associates won a grand award for turning to natural maintenance at a Winnetka residence.

The lawns are fertilized with organic materials and minerals, and compost from leaves mulches the plantings and even a path.

Other areas include a perennial cutting garden and a wooded area.

The company's other awards were for renovating an overgrown yard at an Evanston residence and for Landmark Town Homes in Northfield.

Brickman's grand award was for work at a Barrington Hills residence.

Mariani was honored for landscaping at the same Barrington Hills prairie-style house noted by the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association.
