Briefs: Senior unhurt in crash
An 89-year-old woman was taken to Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva for observation Thursday after driving a car through a garage door, wall, yard, fence and into another vehicle, police said. The accident happened about 1 p.m. when the woman drove a 1991 Cadillac through a garage door on the 100 block of South 14th Street. The car then went through the garage's rear wall and through a yard behind the garage before hitting an unoccupied pickup truck in a parking lot at 20 S. 14th St. The impact caused the truck to hit an apartment building, police said.
