Naperville Area chamber's Small Business of the Year awards
Thirty-five businesses have been nominated for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce's 11th annual Small Business of the Year Awards.
The awards are designed to recognize top businesses, review the practices of successful entrepreneurs and set benchmarks for success.
This year's ceremony will be at 6 p.m. May 9 at the Wyndham Lisle, 3000 Warrenville Road. Tickets are $80 or $750 for a table of 10.

Nominees are divided into categories based on their number of employees.
They were evaluated by a panel of judges and winners will be chosen based on their growth in sales and number of employees from 2004-2008; innovative approaches; accomplishments; and community involvement.
Nominees with one to five employees are: Admit One DJ's; Alma Jones & Associates Inc.; Barbara's Interiors; Buddingh & Associates, Inc.; DuPage Woman Newspaper; Gierach Law Firm; GLANCER Magazine; The Greenberg Law Firm; Isenberg & Associates; MG Training & Consulting, Inc.; Perfect Air Heating & Air Conditioning; Strategic Planning, Inc.; and U-Connect Inc.
Nominees with six to 30 employees are: Access Tek, Inc.; DMI Hotels; Expert Plumbing; Fox Valley Institute for Growth & Wellness; Fry Properties Inc.; Icon Digital Design & Illustration; Newman Architecture; Roseland Draperies & Interiors; Sebring Services; Sir Speedy Printing; and Wedding Guide.
Nominees with 31 or more employees are: Great Western Flooring Company; Interior Investments, LLC; The Packer Group; and Ryan Hill Realty.
The nominees in the 5 Under 5 category are: Black Knight Security; Bob Jung Painting & Decorating, Inc.; Closet Factory; The Comedy Shrine Theater; Great Scapes Inc.; Jalapeno Paint Werx, Inc.; Naperville Magazine; Nyberg & Cassioppi; Rebuiltcars; and Romano & Associates.
Nominees in the not-for-profit category are: Easter Seals DuPage; Evangelical Free Church Naperville; KidsMatter; Kidz Kabaret; The Lincoln Foundation for Performance Excellence; Loaves & Fishes; Naperville CARES; NCTV Channel 17; Our Children's Homestead; Samaritan Interfaith Counseling Center; Serenity House; and Xilin Association.
Belgio's Catering earned the 2007 overall Small Business of the Year honors, along with Esser Hayes Insurance Group in the professional category, Canterbury Shoppe in the retail category and Design Resource Center in the service: business to business category.
The Naperville Area Humane Society was named 2007 Not-for-Profit of the Year.
