Briefs: Naperville man sentenced

Raymond A. Snyder, 39, of Naperville, was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison for shooting out windows with a BB gun last year at Power Construction at 2135 City Gate Lane in Naperville. Snyder, 407 Denali Drive, earlier pleaded guilty to felony criminal damage to property charges. He also must pay $10,000 in restitution.

District 2 holds registration

Bensenville Elementary District 2 will hold kindergarten registration April 8 and 9. Parents should register at the school their students will attend and will need to indicate a preference for full- or half-day classes. Forms are available at schools, the district office and www.bsd2.org. Registration will be from 1 to 6 p.m. April 8 at Tioga School and April 9 at Mohawk and Johnson schools. Earth Day photo exhibit

Middle-school and high-school teens can submit a photograph celebrating Earth Day at the Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St. Each photo requires an entry form and there's no limit to how many photos can be submitted. Entries must be submitted April 14 through April 20. The photos will be on display April 21 through May 2. For details, call (630) 469-0879.

Donate your bicycles

St. Michael Parish School students will sponsor a Bike Bonanza as part of their Faith-in Action service project. The Bonanza is a project to receive, repair and donate gently used adult and children's bikes. The recipients of the bikes will be children at the People's Resource Center and adults at DuPage PADS. After the bikes are received on St. Michael Parish property, the students will then walk or ride the bikes to the People's Resource Center and or DuPage PADS so that they can be immediately given to Wheaton-area children and adults. Students at the school also raised about $500 to help purchase new children's bike helmets and locks. The event will occur from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 12 at the St. Michael Parish School parking lot at 314 W. Willow St., Wheaton.

Camerata at St. Mike's

Camerata Chicago and the chamber orchestra's concert soloist Dorothy Hall will present a concert featuring the "Four Seasons" by Vivaldi. The concert will include the original poetry narrated by famed WFMT radio host Peter Van De Graaf. St. Michael Church in Wheaton will host the concert. Edward Zimmerman from Wheaton College also will perform a Handel Organ Concerto under the direction of British Maestro Drostan Hall. The concert is at 7:30 p.m. April 13 at 310 S. Wheaton Ave. Tickets are $20.

Swing with Wheaton North

The Wheaton North Jazz Bands invite everyone to the third annual Swing Dance. There will be live music provided by several of the Wheaton North jazz bands as well as the jazz bands from Franklin and Monroe Middle schools. Light refreshments, a silent auction and raffles also will be featured. Free swing dance lessons are offered by professional dancers beginning at 5:45 p.m. The music runs from 7 to 10 p.m. April 18 at the Wheaton North High School commons area. The event is open to the public. Semi-formal attire is required. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students.
