Shepherd club offers obedience class

Lincolnwood Training Club for German Shepherd Dogs has a new eight-week Beginner obedience class starting at 7 p.m. April 9 at the clubhouse, Central and Dearlove roads, Glenview. To register or for information, call Mary Ann at (773) 478-4534.

Boxer Specialty: Midwest Boxer Club will hold a breed Specialty April 11 in the main building of Fred Francis 4-H Field on Francis Road in New Lenox. Included will be conformation and Puppy Sweepstakes.

This is the last show listed for our area for the month of April. There are also no Agility trials listed for April.

Entry deadlines: Northwest Obedience Club announced April 11 as the deadline to enter its Agility Trials May 3 and 4 at KICKS Inc., Regional Sports Facility, 1310 Ridgeville Road, Crystal Lake. The entry fee for each day is $23 plus $13 for the second entry of the same dog. Send entries plus fees made payable to the club to Kathryn McIntyre, Trial Secretary, 20 E. Russet Way, Palatine, IL 60067-3451.

• Lyons Township Dog Training Club's deadline is April 15 for Tracking Tests and TDX Tests to be held April 27 at Green Valley Forest Preserve in Naperville. Tracking fee is $50 and TDX is $90. Entries and fees made payable to the club go to Meb Ingold, Trial Secretary, 4454 Harvey Ave., Western Springs, IL 60558-1645.

VST Tests: Moraine Tracking Club will hold all-breed Variable Surface Tracking Tests the morning of April 13 in Lincolnshire's Corporate Center at the corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Knights Bridge Parkway. Trial secretary is Teresa Higgins of Wheeling.

Tuxedos for Tails: Make your reservations now for Save-A-Pet's 22nd annual Tuxedos for Tails Auction and Dinner on April 26 at The Stonegate, 2401 W. Higgins Road (Barrington Road and I-90 interchange) in Hoffman Estates. Tickets are $100 per person and include the silent and live auctions, open bar, hors d'oeuvres, four-course dinner, music and dancing. Call (847) 740-7788, ext. 146, for reservations.
