Underwriters unit in Germany merger

NORTHBROOK -- Underwriters Laboratories, a provider of product safety testing services, announced Tuesday its Management System Solutions business will merge with DQS, an independent third-party management system certification services firm headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Under the agreement, the new entity will operate as a separate, stand-alone organization, with Underwriters maintaining an ownership share, the company said.
