Drury lifts Rangers in OT
Chris Drury scored a power-play goal 1:46 into overtime, giving the host New York Rangers a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh on Monday night that kept the Penguins from clinching their first division title in 10 years.
The Rangers were given the advantage in the opening minute of the extra session when Sergei Gonchar held Jaromir Jagr as he drove to the net.
Pittsburgh is still in prime position to win the Atlantic Division, leading New Jersey by 7 points. The Penguins, with 100 points, are 2 ahead of Montreal in the race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
Thrashers 2, Lightning 0: Ilya Kovalchuk scored 2 third-period goals, and Kari Lehtonen stopped 36 shots for his fourth shutout as Atlanta beat host Tampa Bay. Kovalchuk tied his career-high in goals with 52, matching his total for the 2005-06 season.
