All 82 Blackhawks games to be on TV?

The Blackhawks have called a news conference for today at the United Center for what the club termed in a statement "a major broadcast announcement."

It's believed the Hawks will unveil their plan to televise all 82 games next season, including the entire 41-game schedule of home games. President John McDonough has said on several occasions since taking over direction of the team that every game would be on television in 2008-09.

Where those games are shown figures to be the main point of today's news conference. While Comcast SportsNet still will carry the majority of games, it is believed the Hawks have worked out a deal with Channel 9 to show some games, which would create a national audience for the club.

The Hawks had no comment regarding today's announcement.
