Rush improves to 4-1

The Chicago Rush used a powerful defense to roll to 59-35 victory over the Arizona Rattlers on Friday night at the Allstate Arena.

The win was the Rush's third straight and improved its record to 4-1.

The Rush defense stoned the Rattlers throughout the game. After giving up a touchdown on the initial drive of the game, Arizona didn't score another offensive touchdown until the third quarter.

Defensive tackle John Moyer led the defense, recording 2 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in addition to three solo tackles.

Quarterback Sherdrick Bonner had a solid game for the Rush, completing 17 of 32 passes for 216 yards with 5 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Damian Harrell was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 100 yards and 3 TDs. Donovan Morgan and Travis LaTendresse also chipped in with a combined 9 receptions for 94 yards and a score.

In addition to Moyer's pick, Jeremy Unertl and Dennison Robinson also intercepted Arizona quarterback Jeff Smoker. The former Michigan State signal-caller was under pressure throughout the game and was sacked four times.

James Baron and Joe Peters also had sacks.
