Democrats deserve credit, not blame

I cannot believe the gall of some people. When Clinton was president and the price of gas went up, all the Republicans and Republican legislators went wild all over the country, blaming Clinton.

When Bush took over the government in 2001, the red hot economy had finally begun to simmer down and Bush and the Republicans blamed it all on Clinton, even with a trillion-dollar surplus.

Here we are, seven years later, all under Republican rule, the country is in shambles, and whose fault is it? Why, according to John Strzelecki, the Democrats, because they had the misfortune of getting just enough members elected to outnumber the Republicans in 2006, but not enough to become vetoproof from the nemesis of the country -- its president!

Everything Mr. Bush has touched since becoming president has turned out abominably, with the aid of all his Republican cohorts in Congress.

Now they are still aiding and abetting him in his continued destruction of our country and Mr. Strzelecki blames it on the Democrats.

What will cure what ails us is a complete Democrat takeover of the U.S. government in November, a la FDR in 1932.

It was the Democrats in Congress who gave us all the benefits we enjoy, including Social Security, Medicare, insurance against losing all your money from bank closures, a viable stock market because of safeguards established under FDR, etc.

If you look at all the things that helped make us the greatest country in the world, all the good things that Americans enjoy were the result of the Democrats -- not the Republicans.
