Streamwood teen shot in leg

A Streamwood 19-year-old is in stable condition today after being shot in the leg at his house late Tuesday night.

"It's not a random act of violence," Streamwood Deputy Police Chief Jim Keegan said. "We believe the shooting to be gang-related."

Police responded to a call of shots fired at a house on the 500 block of Berkley Place at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Keegan said.

An investigation determined a number of shots were fired at the house from outside. One of them struck the victim in the upper right leg.

He was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he remained Thursday, Keegan said.

The investigation continues and there have not yet been any arrests made.
