Fashion show to benefit animal shelter

Nancy Loo, award-winning TV personality with Fox News Channel 32, will be the guest narrator for the Assisi Animal Foundation's annual Fashion Show and Luncheon benefit April 12 at the Crystal Lake Country Club.

The show focuses on spring fashion selections from Barrington's popular Savvy Spirit, whose owner Rosemary Doherty is coordinating the fashion selections.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. to meet old and new friends and view raffle and silent auction items, which feature a variety of offerings including dining and entertainment, personal care, decorative items and Cubs game tickets.

Luncheon and informal modeling follow to top off a full spring afternoon to benefit the Assisi Animal Foundation's no-kill shelter.

Proceeds will go toward medical costs for cats and dogs residing at the shelter, which was the first no-kill shelter built in the area, opening in 1988.

In addition to sheltering and adopting its animal residents, the Assisi Animal Foundation serves its community with animal-assisted therapy programs, which were introduced even before the shelter was complete in 1987.

Assisi educational programs also serve youngsters in the area.

Tickets are available at $35 until April 9 and reservations are required, as tickets will not available at the event.

Call the Assisi Animal Foundation for information or reservations at (815) 455 9411.
