Chiropractor offering free care to soldiers at Buffalo Grove clinic

A Buffalo Grove chiropractor is offering a year of free care to military personnel who are returning from duty.

Dr. Gregg Stern, who owns Stern Chiropractic, said the soldiers have been through emotional and physical stress, and he wants to help them heal when they return.

Pilots speak: The Chicago Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen will be speaking at Temple Chai in Long Grove 11:15 a.m. this Sunday.

The group will be speaking about the obstacles they encountered while becoming the only black fighter pilots in World War II.

Toasting the Toastmasters: The Toastmasters from Area 44 were recently honored at the Area Spring contest for outstanding performance in speaking.

Mark Groves of the Speechmakers Toastmasters Club 4704 of Buffalo Grove took a second place trophy for Table Topics.

The next contests on Table Topics and International Speech for the North Division will be at 6 p.m. April 7 at the Northbrook library.

Curb underage drinking: Lake County will be holding a series of town hall meetings to talk about underage drinking.

The forums will be held at the following dates and locations:

• Stevenson Community People Rallying to Oppose Underage Drinking, or P.R.O.U.D., will hold a forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Stevenson High School, 1 Stevenson Drive, Lincolnshire. Call (847) 634-4000, ext. 1285, for more information.

• The Coalition for Healthy Communities will hold a forum for the Zion, Winthrop Harbor and Beach Park area from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 2 at the Zion-Benton Public Library, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion. Call (847) 731-2658 for more information.

• The Lake County Underage Drinking Prevention Task Force will have a town hall meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. April 3 at Carmel Catholic High School, 1 Carmel Parkway, Mundelein. Call (847) 543-2056 with questions.
