Crash in Vernon Hills

Countryside Fire Department responded to an accident Monday where officials say a car slammed into a tree at Aspen Drive and Apollo Court in Vernon Hills.

The driver sheared off a fire hydrant and hit a mailbox and a speed limit sign before being stopped by a small tree.
