Current leadership has done wonders
In response to Kathy Manos' letter to the editor of March 10, ("GOP downturn the fault of Adelizzi"), Ms. Manos conveniently fails to mention that the former Republican committeeman she speaks so highly of is now a Democrat. It was definitely disheartening to see his campaign signs on the lawns of many former Republicans during the recent primary race, but the truth is you can't really do much to convince people who choose name recognition over substance and values.
It's the actions of the former committeeman that are the root the problem, not the lack of action on the part of the current committeeman, Mike Adelizzi.
In the short months since Mr. Adelizzi was named committeeman, he has worked near miracles. There is a new, vibrant Republican organization -- Schaumburg Township Republican Organization, made up of members from groups splintered by the actions of the previous committeeman.
Much has been accomplished as a result of Mr. Adelizzi's leadership -- in the midst of election year activity, to boot. What is needed now are strong Republicans to take action, not sit on the sidelines and whine. Perhaps if Ms. Manos bothered to attend any of STRO's monthly meetings, she'd be better informed.
