Sagent launches ciprofloxacin

SCHAUMBURG -- Sagent Pharmaceuticals Inc., a privately-held specialty pharmaceutical company, Wednesday launched ciprofloxacin injection, a synthetic broad spectrum anti-microbial agent for intravenous use for bacterial infections. It will be available immediately. According to IMS data, sales of injectable ciprofloxacin in the United States in 2006 were approximately $60 million. Ciprofloxacin is the third product introduced by Sagent.
