Secession a good idea, can't happen
I would like to comment on two articles in today's Herald (March 13).
The first comment concerns the idea of seceding from Crook (sic) County. While I am completely in favor of the idea, it will never happen. The deck is stacked against us.
An approval vote by the entire county is required. Since a majority of the voters reside in Chicago and receive the majority of the benefits, it doesn't take much imagination to predict the outcome.
The state legislature could enact a new law to change that requirement. Great, but Chicago politicos control the state legislature. The representatives in Springfield bow facing north for their opening invocation. Need I say more?
My second comment concerns the laughable idea of Hillary having Billary as her running mate. As I read it, a vision flashed through my mind that really broke me up. I almost cracked a rib laughing. Envision. if you will, the election bumper stickers: "Hillary For President, Bill For Vice."
