Bank robber hits Hinsdale

A robber stole cash from a bank safe before it opened for business Monday, police said.

Hinsdale police are searching for a man who stole from Harris Bank, 50 S. Lincoln St., around 6:10 a.m. Monday. The man fled on foot before police arrived, and no one was injured.

The man is described as between 25 and 30 years old, 5 foot 4 to 5 foot 5 inches tall, wearing a black knit hat, gray sweatshirt, black pants and a black scarf over his face.

The amount of money stolen is under investigation, police said. The FBI is assisting Hinsdale police with the investigation.
