Thanks for support of Scout food drive

The Boy Scouts of Thunderbird District thank their neighbors for the wonderful response to our recent Scouting for Food collection.

Almost 13,000 pounds of food were collected by almost 1,400 Scouts, leaders, adults, and siblings, and donated to Lisle Township Food Pantry, Loaves & Fishes in Naperville, St. Thomas the Apostle Food Pantry, Woodridge Community Pantry and the Downer's Grove Fish Food Pantry. About half the Scouts distributed flyers to more than 21,000 homes in the Lisle, Naperville and Woodridge areas, and then picked up donations of food and paper goods on February 23.

The other half of the Scouts picked up donations at pack and troop events during February and early March. Participating this year were 30 units from Thunderbird District: Lisle's Pack 89, Crew 108, Pack 108, Troop 108, Pack 504, Naperville's Pack 66, Pack 70, Troop 100, Troop 106, Troop 107, Pack 198, Team 198, Troop 198, Troop 222, Pack 362, Pack 444, Troop 501, Pack 503, Troop 505, Pack 507, Pack 562, Pack 565, Pack 567, Pack 5556, and Woodridge's Troop 67, Pack 104, Troop 109, Pack 367, Pack 511 and Troop 516.

Scouting for Food 2008 made a significant difference in the community, providing food and personal care essentials to our neighbors in need.

Thank you for your generous response.
