Teen arrested after threatening Lisle police online

A 15-year-old Lisle boy who allegedly posted Internet threats against police officers has been arrested for possession of firearm ammunition and disorderly conduct, authorities said Thursday.

Lisle police say the teen posted comments on a MySpace Web site about a "last stand" and "dropping officers" that were directed toward specific law enforcement personnel who had been involved in his previous arrest. Police would not discuss details of that earlier incident.

The teen also posted mentions and pictures of weapons, gang references and drug paraphernalia, Sgt. Ron Wilke said.

Police conducted a search of the teen's home and arrested him without incident Wednesday.

In addition to ammunition, they found drug paraphernalia, knives and a BB-gun style weapon not capable of firing real bullets, Wilke said.

The teen, who already was on probation in DuPage, was taken into custody at the county's juvenile detention center to await a hearing.

Unlawful possession of firearm ammunition is a Class A misdemeanor and disorderly conduct is a Class C misdemeanor.

Wilke said police have contacted administrators of MySpace and asked that the teen's site be removed.

He said police are concerned about the increasing number of threats posted on the Internet. Just last month a Kennedy Junior High student wrote a message on a MySpace page that mentioned the possibility of bombing the school.

"Kids need to understand they can't post this stuff without ramifications," Wilke said.
