Kudos to Palatine on sales tax dispute

Bravo to Palatine's elected officials for voicing their displeasure about the increase in sales tax and for investigating "where's the money going."

I wish I lived in Palatine. Finally, some elected officials (in office to serve their constituents) have the courage to speak out.

How many times can government come back to the general population and say "we want this and need more money." Enough already!

There are many things I want, but I can't run to my employer and say "I want this and need more money."

I have to tighten my belt and so should our cities, villages and towns. How much more of the burden can taxpayers bear -- sky high gas prices, increases in food costs, rising property taxes, and now increases in sales tax?

Where does it end? Apparently in Palatine. Hooray for Palatine's elected officials and thanks for your fiscal responsibility. I'll be trying to move into your village.
