League suspends Hawks' Wisniewski for hit against Detroit
Blackhawks defenseman James Wisniewski was suspended by the NHL for one game today for cross-checking Detroit's Mikael Samuelsson in the neck in Tuesday's 3-1 loss at Detroit.
Wisniewski was to sit out tonight's game against the Caroline Hurricanes at the United Center. He'll be eligible to return Friday at Columbus.
Andrei Zyuzin was to replace Wisniewski in the lineup against the Hurricanes.
