Schakowsky's office answers questions
Ann Limjoco from 9th District Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky's office will be at the Des Plaines Public Library from 5 to 7 p.m. March 19, to answer questions related to federal government services. No appointment is needed.
Limjoco is available to meet privately with residents of the 9th Congressional District to discuss issues such as Social Security, Medicare, veterans' benefits, immigration and visas. Meetings are on a first come, first served basis.

Eat at McDonald's, help Maine West
The next Maine West Dollars for Scholars Eat Around Town fundraiser will be March 19 at the McDonald's Restaurant, 1101 Oakton St., Des Plaines.
McDonald's will sponsor McCare Night from 3:30 to 7 p.m. For everyone who dines in and says "Dollars for Scholars," McDonald's will donate a portion of the proceeds to fund scholarships for Maine West students.
Rotary Club offers scholarships
The Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights noon Rotary Club is offering scholarships to graduating Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights high school seniors seeking post secondary education opportunities.
Scholarships of $2,000 for four-year degrees and $1,000 for associate degrees and vocational training are available. Applicants must be Mount Prospect or Prospect Heights residents and graduating high school seniors. Applicants will be judged on academic achievement, community service, financial need and chosen field of study. Applications are available through District 214 counselors.

Library sponsors talk on autism, diet
Sally Martin-Ranft of Awakening Holistic Healing Center will discuss implementing a gluten-free, casein-free diet for the child with autism at 7 p.m. March 25 at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood St.
Gluten is found in all products containing wheat, rye and barley. Martin-Ranft will explain taking the diet a step farther by also removing sugar and bad fats.
