Four teens charged in Island Lake thefts

Four teenagers stole digital-music players, money and other items out of at least 10 cars in Island Lake, police said.

The vehicles, all of which were unlocked, had been parked in residential areas throughout the village, police said. The thefts occurred between midnight Sunday and about 3 a.m. Monday.

Evidence and information from witnesses and informants led police to the four suspects. All were arrested Monday.

Mitchell R. Davis, 19, of 27606 Oak St., Island Lake, was charged with criminal trespass to vehicle, theft and criminal damage to property.

Mary Larson, 19, of 619 Carriage Hill Drive, Island Lake, was charged with theft.

Amber Randall, 19, of 4113 Beech St., Apt. 202, Island Lake, was charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and theft.

Kyle Magana, 18, of 64 S. Circle Ave., Port Barrington, was charged with criminal trespass to vehicle and theft.

Authorities on Tuesday were not sure how many cars were entered, Police Chief John W. Fellmann said. Between 10 and 15 cars likely were entered, police said.

The thefts remained under investigation Tuesday.
