Brunswick Zone XL strikes fancy of locals -- before opening
It's already all the rage, and it doesn't even officially open until Wednesday.
But it seems the opening of the new Brunswick Zone XL along Randall Road is much anticipated.
Birthday parties have already been booked for the 57,000-square-foot center.
People are busy inquiring about forming leagues.
And Scout troops and office groups are planning outings on site.
After Tuesday's sneak peek for several community members, along with a charity bowling tournament that had Brunswick paying out $1,000 to local charities, the hype is even bigger.
"I can't wait to get in and play," said Algonquin resident Tina Baker, who added that she might even stop by to check it out today.
"We really need something like this out here."
When you walk in the center, you'll get an idea quickly of what all of the hype is about and why the center is called XL.
There are 44 bowling lanes.
But that's not all. The $12 million modernized bowling alley also has a Laser tag area, a giant arcade room large enough to keep you buying tokens all day long, and a fireside lounge.
So you see, it's not just bowling. It's also lounging and hanging out with friends. You can even meet up there for dinner inside the full-service restaurant.
For those of you who are there to bowl, though, there also is lane-side service.
Brunswick Zone XL is located behind the new Algonquin Best Buy, on the east side of Randall, at 1611 S. Randall Road. For information, call (847) 658-2257.
