Cook County tax increase is absurd
Oh, how good it feels for the citizens of Cook County to be led around by their noses.
After the Stroger-led county board voted that tax increase to 10.25 percent, making us the highest taxed area in the nation, we even made the national news on Monday.
As a senior citizen, I think it stinks to high heaven.
But don't sweat the little things like Stroger going on to hire his fourth public relations chief at $105,000 in 14 months. His other three PR persons haven't lost their jobs, only reshuffled to new posts.
One to a $100,000 job of county planning, one to a job of liaison to churches ( job description?) at $99,800 and another $85,000 for a hospital spokesman.
Please, Mr. Stroger, adopt me.
I will not be buying another big-ticket item in Cook County again and will even cut back on all spending in this county.
