Algonquin Commons receives Cornerstone Award
Algonquin Commons has been awarded the 2007 Cornerstone Award by the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The award was created to recognize the partner who best exemplifies the meaning of the Bureau's Partnership Program from the previous year.
"We call it the Cornerstone Award because we believe a great foundation is needed to build an excellent bureau." said Brent Edwards, director of marketing for the Elgin Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
"Our partners are our strength, our foundation, and Algonquin Commons is a great example for our partnership program."
Jim Pratt, property manager of Algonquin Commons was on hand to accept the award during the fourth annual Partnership Open House held at the bureau's office.
"Jim Pratt has proven time and time again that he will dedicate his time and energies to ensure the success of the bureau", said Kimberly Bless, president and CEO for the Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Pratt initiates and participates on sales calls to help secure new members; sits on the board of directors for the EACVB; chairs the Community Advisory committee for the bureau; and supports the bureau through sponsorships and advertising.
Pratt also was instrumental in helping the CVB develop better itineraries in order to attract motorcoach travel to the region. Pratt has always offered a helping hand to every member of the bureau's team.
